Infant classroom goals are something that we work on daily. Setting them and striving to meet them are of the utmost importance to us. We strive to be the best infant teachers we can be by ensuring the safety of all of our children during all routines and activities and to be alert and attentive at all times. We constantly make certain that the outside play area as well as the indoor space is safe and secure and that we provide a healthy environment. We provide a safe, healthy, and attractive environment for the children. We will do this by arranging the classroom in a way to stimulate their learning skills. We also provide physical activities that support large and small muscle development. We provide age-appropriate activities that encourage curiosity and use of the five senses and support social and emotional development through positive guidance and interactions. We develop caring and sharing partnerships with all parents. Communication is provided through newsletters, daily report forms, daily conversations, and parent-teacher conferences. We continue to grow as professionals and to be a positive role model and choose to interact with rather than react to the infants in our care.
Toddlers have lots energy and we welcome that energy and excitement because it’s a natural part of growth and learning. We’ll channel that energy into positive learning experiences, giving them plenty of room to move and explore. We provide nurturing guidance as they develop physical skills and master emerging milestones. The Exploration Room schedule is flexible to meet each child’s needs while keeping a daily routine for planned activities also. Sign language is an integral part throughout the day while they learn about their environment. We provide a safe, healthy, and attractive environment for the children. Our staff is fun-loving, energetic, patient; and is ready to give your child a day full of wonder and exploration. We focus on preparing your child for the next level by teaching them; shapes, colors, numbers, letters, fine & gross motor skills, sensory activities and social-emotional skills. We take extra time and care to help the parents in potty-training their child. Our teachers are enthusiastic and hands on with the children. Both the children and the staff enjoy the individualized attention given by the high staff ratio. We truly enjoy working with your children and our main goal is to provide a happy, safe, nurturing environment in which they will learn and have fun. As with our other classrooms, we address all the developmental domains of the growing Toddler by watching how they are progressing socially, physically, emotionally and cognitively. The Toddlers independence is encouraged in self-help skills such as sitting for meal times, eating with silverware, putting on their own clothing and outerwear, and assisting in their toilet training. We encourage the toddler’s emotional and social development by helping each child recognize and deal with the complexities and challenges of his/her feelings. This is accomplished by working on a trusting and loving relationship with each child. Showing respect, learning to share and helping one another is a doorway to developing caring relationships with adults and with their peers.
The Creativity, Expression & Enactment Rooms offer an environment that promotes respect and a love for learning. Our goal is for kiddos to have fun while they are learning, and our variety of activities give ample opportunity to learn letters, math, science, social awareness and language skills. Kiddos learn through movement, song, and dance during gross motor time where they strengthen muscle tone and release some pent up energy. Our staff is excited to play, create, and learn with your children! Children will rotate to a variety of learning centers which offer items to help stimulate young imaginative minds. Literacy is introduced with the letter of the week, creative writing and circle time readings. Calendar time introduces them to the days of the week and the months of the year. Patterns, graphing, simple math and science activities are included in the weekly program. Music, movement, and playground times are a favorite part of each day. The children’s art is proudly displayed around the room. Fine motor skills are used daily as they participate in themed take home projects. Their individuality is appreciated and their achievements are applauded.
